Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard

My Favorite Bluetooth Solution

This topic is a difficult one, for I’d hate to do without any of my Bluetooth toys for Windows Mobile devices. My favorites include Jabra headset, Jabra headphones, Stowaway Keyboard, Just Mobile Bluetune car kit, and various Bluetooth GPS receivers.

If someone held a gun to my head and told me to pick just one, which would it be? I can get by without headsets, headphones, and a car kit by using ear buds or not. I’d hate living without GPS, but I have other solutions with built-in GPS on iPaqs and i-mates. Then too, there are dedicated handheld devices and dashboard models. I can also live without Bluetooth synchronization and printing.

So, that leaves only one favorite—the Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard. I consider this device my most important productivity tool, especially when I travel or when I am in meetings. I even like to go out into various locations in my garden to write using it for inputting. I like to use it in libraries, in coffee shops, and in public hotspots.

I must admit that in the beginning I was slow to come around to the virtues of Bluetooth. I found it utterly frustrating and unreliable as a networking and wireless connection solution. It was more of an issue than a solution for me. However, over time, the technology has improved and connectivity is much more easily achieved, for which I am grateful.

There are many things I appreciate about the Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard. Here are the eight things I enjoy most:

• Perhaps what I like best of all is that it folds out to a full-size keyboard (13.8 x 5.1 x .5 inches with five rows of keys.
• The Bluetooth connection routine is quick and easy, even the first time. After that, it is automatic.
• It uses a single inexpensive easily available AAA battery for its power supply. I am not certain about the length of battery life, but I know I have gone for weeks without changing the battery with fairly regular use.
• It is compact, and highly portable for travel measuring only 5.0 x3.5 x .9 inches and weighs only 10.7 ounces.
• I t comes with a snug-fitting zipper case to protect it from scratches and dirt during transport.
• The function keys are easy to use for special characters, keypad, function keys, and retrieval of Microsoft Office data such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• You can also access email and Internet Explorer from the keyboard.
• I especially admire the cleverly design...
